Problems accessing formula via context

Hey everyone. I am having problems accessing a parent formula via context. Can anyone shed any light on what I might be doing wrong? Thanks. https://www.tella.tv/video/accessing-state-across-components-2e6y

@Jacob Kofoed can you see what might be causing this? The initial value for the variable does seem available when the context formula is consumed in the first component, but not in the second 🤔

I am looking into this. Does the value work when previewing the page, or is it only in the editor that you don't see the value?

Where does the CurrentUser data come from originally? If it comes from an API and is then stored in the variable you expose, then it will not be available when viewing through context (in editor, it will work in production). We're discussing ways to add test-data to APIs.

We're definitely not done improving on the editor experience around context, so we will have a solution for better testdata when working with context combined with API data in the future.

Context is great if you need the data exposed to deeply nested components many levels down from the context provider. If you just need it for a single sub-component, then you can consider just using component-attributes. That way you can also set your own test-data.
