I have already connected my custom domain but it still using the toddle.site as the main domain. how can i make my custom domain as the main domain?
  • Erik Beuschau

Both will point to the main branch of your project. Currently, it's not possible to remove the toddle.site domain, but let me know if it's a problem for your app to have it

@Erik Beuschau does the toddle.site domain get indexed too? If so, how do we ensure only the custom domain gets indexed
  • Erik Beuschau

Yes, it could be crawled by robots although it's not something that has been a problem for toddle projects so far (that I know of).
  • Vizualinx

it's ok, but it would be great to have control over it.
  • Erik Beuschau

Noted. We'll discuss this internally and let you know when we have a conclusion 👍
  • Lucas G

It can technically cause duplicate content issues as far as indexing goes
    this_tbh3
  • But it can be avoided by updating robots file to exclude the toddle.site domain from indexing
  • Or using canonical tags in links
  • sitemap should also only include links from the main domain
  • Chris Laupama

@Lucas G how do you skip a whole domain in the robots.txt without disallowing the whole site including custom domain?

What we would want is a noindex to be applied to all pages when the toddle site is used. The ability to switch this on and off would be great.

But yes, duplicate issues with google is the main concern here.

@Erik Beuschau when logging in through a different computer I'm getting the previous website that the domain was connected to.
It's very weird, cuz it was connected to the toddle app I built when I checked it on my computer.

I see now, when I go to mydomain.com it goes to the old website. When I go to www.mydomain.com it goes to the toddle built app.
    Very weird!

You have to forward non-www to www
  • Vizualinx

    Got it.
    Never had something like this.

I just set up two new projects with new domains on GoDaddy and it was smooth as.

Team toddle I'm experiencing an issue now... toddle is only pointing to my 'www.renderdirectory.com' domain, and not my 'renderdirectory.com' domain.

    Any way to fix?
  • Andreas Møller

The best option is to redirect renderdirectory.com to www.renderdirectory.com
  • Browsers hide the www. By default because it is the standard
  • Alex

I have the same issue, I tried to redirect it but it doesn't work. (I'm using Squarespace)
  • Vizualinx

Why can't I just add centrelinx.com in toddle??
  • Andreas Møller

We are currently hosting toddle apps on cloudflare which only supports CNAME.
  • We are looking in to possible solutions
  • Why can’t you redirect?
  • Vizualinx

    So what can I do?
Currently only www.centrelinx.com is working, centrelinx.com is not.
  • I tried to redirect it, I did it over 12 hours ago, but it's still not working.
  • Andreas Møller

If you setup an automatic redirect from centrelinx.com to www.centrelinx.com the it should just work. Users likely won’t notice since browsers don’t show the www.
  • Vizualinx

    That's what I did.
  • Andreas Møller

Ok what problem are you experiencing?
  • Vizualinx

    That it just doesn't redirect
  • Andreas Møller

That sounds like a problem with your DNS provider.

How did you set up the redirect?
  • Vizualinx

    It does.
But I never had to do this.
Previously when I would publish to a domain it would handle both domains (other platforms)
  • Andreas Møller

If the platform supports A name records then using the root level domain will work just fine.

Unfortunately we can’t do that while we are on cloudflare.
While open sourcing toddle we are also investigating alternative cloud options. 😦
  • Unfortunately it is not a quick fix

    Is it working for you?
  • Andreas Møller

I think that with ssl on you need to have a ssl cert. Try turning it off
  • It will still be on for www.centrelinx
  • Vizualinx
