I am handling different views on my app based on the path parameter...but on click of each button that should update the path...it is not changing...it is working in the editor but not on the live preview

Yes. Perhaps you can send a login in a DM? Otherwise, check the console in the browser's developer tools to see if there's an error indicating why it wouldn't work to update the path parameter
