"Toddle was a game-changer for us. Its intuitive design and powerful features made it possible to bring my vision for Localpost to life without needing extensive coding knowledge"

Meet Tom Wrench, the founder of Localpost from New Zealand. Tom believes choosing a set of development tools that can take you past the MVP is essential.

The proper development tools can significantly influence a start-up's success.

A strategic tech-stack

Tom faced a significant barrier: his limited coding expertise. This led him to explore the burgeoning field of no-code platforms, where he discovered Toddle. "Toddle was a game-changer for me; its intuitive design and powerful features enabled me to bring my vision for Localpost to life without needing extensive coding knowledge," Tom reflects. Toddle stood out for its unique blend of user-friendliness and advanced capabilities. It offered the rare ability to develop a project from its infancy (MVP stage) to a mature, scalable product without switching platforms or overhauling the foundational tech. This aspect of toddle and its sophisticated backend and database separation solidified Tom's decision.

"The scalability of Toddle is phenomenal. It allows Localpost to grow and adapt to new challenges without a hitch."

Learning from Limitations

Before toddle, Tom explored various no-code platforms but found them lacking scalability and advanced functionality.

This experience underscored the need for a more versatile tool, leading him to Toddle.

"The scalability of Toddle is phenomenal. It allows Localpost to grow and adapt to new challenges without a hitch"

This aspect is crucial to evolve Localpost from an MVP to a full-fledged community platform.

Community platforms are cluttered and disorganized.

Tom came up with the idea of Localpost as he wanted a solution to the cluttered and disorganized nature of community communication on platforms like Facebook.

Tom describes his app as a:

He imagined a digital space where local communities and businesses can interact in a structured and intuitive environment. Localpost allows users to post and view notices, events, and advertisements relevant to their local area. The platform offers customizable filters and user preferences that enhance the relevance and accessibility of local information. He has created a virtual community notice board, encouraging local engagement and business support.

What makes Localpost different?

It’s hard to stand out in the digital world, and here’s Tom’s take on how to make a community board succeed.

  • Local Focus: Users engage with content specific to their area, enhancing community connection.
  • User Customization: The platform offers personalized content preferences.
  • Business Integration: Local businesses find a direct line to their community.
  • Event Listings: A dedicated section for local events boosts community engagement.
  • Interactive Interface: Ensures a seamless user experience.

According to Tom, there's a lack of a tool like Localpost for the New Zealand communities:

What Tom built with Localpost.

Tom built a set of components in toddle that comprise the community notice board.

  • User Authentication System: For secure logins and user management.
  • Content Management System (CMS): To manage posts, advertisements, and events.
  • Customizable User Profiles: Allows personalization and preference settings.
  • Feedback and Rating Systems: Enable community interaction and trust-building.
  • (Coming soon) Interactive Maps: For users to quickly locate local events and businesses.

The tech-stack

Your technology stack matters, and Tom knows that. He built Localpost on top of a few different technologies and mixed them.

"These three tools combined, make a very very powerful stack, which can basically let you do anything. Apart from maybe fly you to the moon."

Tom embraces his digital future with toddle.

His journey is a beacon for aspiring digital entrepreneurs, illustrating how entrepreneurs can transform visionary ideas into tangible community assets with modern development tools.
